This filter fits Mercury outboard engines, namely Optimax® and Verado®, which utilize a patented Racor supplied fuel filtration system. You should always carry extra replacement elements as one tankful of dirty fuel can plug a filter. The 31871 solves this problem by providing two filters in every pack.
